Introduction:

Leadshine PS series linear power supplies were specifically designed to power stepper and servo systems. In stepper and servo systems, frequent speed and torque changes result in frequent current changes drawing from power supplies. When accelerating, servo / stepper drive draws high current and requires quick response for the power supplies. In de-acceleration, stepper / servo motors generates EMF charge-back voltage back to servo / stepper drives, which will require the power supplies to “absorb” such voltage to protect the damage of connected stepper / servo drives.

Leadshine PS series linear power supplies can satisfy the above needs in stepper and servo systems with simple design and big built-in bulky capacitors. Each of PS power supplies come with 3 main outputs of 36 or 68 VDC to allow the connection of multiple stepper or servo drives. Each PS power supply also has an auxiliary output which can output 12VDC/1A, or 5 VDC/1A to power other electronic components in control systems. At very effective cost, Leadshine linear power supplies are highly reliable and perform very well in resisting external electric interference.

Normal regulated switching power supplies commonly found on market are designed for powering devices with less output current changes. They can’t response quick enough to meet servo and stepper system. When adopted in servo or stepper systems, they could be even damaged because of lack the ability to handle voltage charge back from de-acceleration of servo / servo systems.

Introduction:

Designed to interface industry standard rotary shaft encoders and linear encoders to PC compatible computers, the ENC7480 incremental encoder interface makes it possible to measure position, velocity and acceleration in such wide ranging applications as co-ordinate measuring machines, robotics and CNC machine tools.

Based on a custom designed ASIC quadrature counter, the ENC7480 interface card provides four independent encoder channels each with a 28-bit position counter with a maximum count rate of 4MHz. The ENC7480 contains a powerful event system which allows events generated by a trigger signal to latch encoder positions. Further more, 64 digital I/O are provided.

A comprehensive software support package includes libraries and examples for modern rapid application development tools such as Visual Basic, Visual C. Plug and Play software support for Windows 98/2000/ME/XP and NT enables simple installation and automatic configuration of up to 5 interfaces supporting a total of 20 encoders.
